Privacy Policy
Klyp helps one person share work and another person review and approve it. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect to make that work, who helps us run it, and how you can see or delete your data.
The short version
- We only collect what Klyp needs to work: your account, the files you upload, and the feedback people leave on them.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
- Anyone with a share link can see what that link shows. Only share links with people you trust.
- Write to contact@getklyp.com and we'll show you, fix or delete your data.
Who we are
Klyp (getklyp.com) is run by its founder, Saidutt, from Hyderabad, Telangana, India. For anything about your data, including complaints, contact contact@getklyp.com.
What we collect
If you have a Klyp account (the person sharing work):
- Your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, also your Google profile name and picture.
- Your password, stored only in scrambled (hashed) form by our login provider. We never see it.
- What you put in Klyp: projects, briefs, client names, sections, uploaded designs, videos, PDFs and other files, and your comments and replies.
- Your email settings (for example, if you turned off feedback emails).
If you review work through a share link (no account needed):
- The name you type when you first comment or approve.
- Your comments, replies, voice notes, the images you attach, and your approvals.
- A random ID saved in your browser, so Klyp knows which comments and approvals are yours. It is not linked to your real identity.
From everyone who visits: basic technical data such as browser type, device, pages visited, rough location (country/city from your IP address), and errors. We use this to fix bugs and improve Klyp. See “Analytics” below.
Why we use it
- To run Klyp: store your work, show it to the people you share it with, and keep track of feedback, versions and approvals.
- To tell you about new feedback, in the app and by email (you can turn emails off any time from the email itself or your projects page).
- To keep Klyp safe: stop spam and abuse, and limit how fast things can be sent.
- To understand how Klyp is used and make it better.
We do not sell personal data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use your files or feedback to train AI models.
Share links: who can see what
A share link works without a login. Anyone who has the link can open itand see the designs, comments, voice notes and approvals on it. Files are stored at long, hard-to-guess addresses, but anyone who has a file's address can open that file. Please share links only with the people who should see the work, and turn a link off in Klyp when it is no longer needed.
Analytics
We use PostHog to see which pages and features are used and to catch errors. PostHog may also record how a page is used (clicks, scrolling and what is on screen) so we can find and fix problems, including on share-link pages. Text you type into fields is hidden in these recordings. This data is stored by PostHog in the United States.
Services that help us run Klyp
We use these companies to store and process data for us. They may only use it to provide their service to Klyp.
| Service | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, login, database, and storage of images and voice notes | India (Mumbai) |
| Cloudflare R2 | Storage of videos and large PDFs | Cloudflare's global network |
| Vercel | Hosts the website and app | Global |
| Resend | Sends emails (sign-up and feedback emails) | Japan / United States |
| PostHog | Usage analytics and error tracking | United States |
| “Continue with Google” sign-in, if you choose it | Global | |
| OpenAI | Understands what you type into the in-project asset search (your search words and project brief) | United States |
| Image & asset libraries (e.g. Pexels, Unsplash, Pixabay) | Receive your search words to return results | Various |
This means your data may be processed outside India. We only use well-known providers that protect data with encryption and access controls.
Cookies and browser storage
- Login cookies, to keep you signed in. Klyp can't work without them.
- Browser storage, for your reviewer name and random ID, your light/dark choice, and which feedback you've already seen.
- Analytics storage from PostHog, to count visits and connect them into a session.
We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep data
- Your account and projects stay until you delete them or ask us to delete your account.
- Deleting a project removes it, its sections, comments and approvals from Klyp straight away. Copies of uploaded files can stay in storage for a while after that. To have every file removed, email us and we'll delete them within 30 days.
- Reviewers: comments and voice notes stay with the project they were left on. Ask the person who shared the link, or write to us, to have them removed.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to: show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also withdraw consent (for example, by deleting your account). Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can raise a complaint with us first, and then with the Data Protection Board of India. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Email contact@getklyp.com from the address on your account. We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Each share link can only read its own work, and only you can change your projects. No system is perfectly secure. If we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
Klyp is not meant for anyone under 18. Don't create an account if you are under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also tell account holders by email or in the app before they take effect.
